Sicily has its own unique culture that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. It is of course quintessentially Italian; but over the years all of the island or parts of it have been ruled by the Greeks, the Romans, the Arabs and the Normans at some point of another. Consequently something of each culture has rubbed off on the agriculture and the attitudes of the inhabitants. Therefore, Sicily is an amalgamation of different customs and cultures.
